In 2015, I gave a talk at the TEDx: Jamaica Plain event in Boston.  I normally don’t get that nervous for public speaking gigs, but the short format of TEDx Talks made me really nervous.  Typically, my talks are about 30-40 minutes, and it was stressful to try and edit my ideas down to a 12-minute talk.  This was an important milestone for me and was one of the first times I publicly stated that sharing DIY ideas online was more than just a hobby.
